I went out to the warehouse and pulled a HitchMate Cargo Stabilizer Bar # HE4016 to see if a lock would fit anywhere on it. There is no place for a lock to go on it or any of the other similar products we carry. If there was a hole that went behind the stop that keeps the handle in place, through the handle, then you could easily put a lock on it. But they did not put a hole there. Fuse tap # F2526 is rated for 10 to 30 amp fuses. For your particular application and fuse tap using the same size fuse that was originally in the fuse location will work just fine. The yellow wire in question is pulling minimal, if any, amperage.

Yes. You can weld the Demco Trailer Coupler # DM12141-81 on to your trailer in addition to the bolts or in place of them. It is recommended that any welding be done by a certified welder so as not to compromise the integrity of the coupler during the process. I have another option for you, but your 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Classic has a factory trailer brake controller port so there is no need to cut any wires.

On the standard RV-type of 7-way socket and plug, parts like # 37185 and # H20046, the trailer brake signal is carried on the socket pin (as you look at the back end of the truck) that is at the 5-o-clock position. Please refer to the linked photo.

There are 2 different ways that a brake controller, like the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195, can be installed on a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado and it just depends on if you have a Classic or New Body.
For the Classic you will need to connect an Adapter # 3015-P under the driver side dash as demonstrated in the attached video.

To install a brake controller on your 2007 Chevrolet Silverado Classic 1500, all the garage would have had to do is plug the harness into the connector under your driver's side dash. If you had the Tekonsha Voyager # 39510 installed the connector would have been part # 3015-P. The garage would not have been messing with any fuses. If your Silverado didn't come with the connector then they would have had to do some simple splicing.

As simplistic as it sounds, the first thing you need to do is make certain which Silverado model you have. For 2007, Chevrolet made both the Classic model and also made the New Body model. On the New Body models, there is no panel connector for a brake controller harness, so hard wiring the brake controller is necessary.
