  • 7-Way Trailer Wiring Functions and Adding a 7-Way to a 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500 Classic
  • I have included pictures of diagrams for both a trailer side and vehicle side 7-Way for you. A 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500 Classic would either have a 7-Way trailer connector or no trailer connector at the back. If it does not have a 7-Way the wiring should already be under the truck, normally located above the spare tire. To add the connector, you would use # HM40975 to add the connector. If your wiring harness under the truck is a bundle of wires use # HM40975 and # PK11998. For the bundle...

  • Can the HitchMate Cargo Stabilizer Bar be Locked
  • I went out to the warehouse and pulled a HitchMate Cargo Stabilizer Bar # HE4016 to see if a lock would fit anywhere on it. There is no place for a lock to go on it or any of the other similar products we carry. If there was a hole that went behind the stop that keeps the handle in place, through the handle, then you could easily put a lock on it. But they did not put a hole there. I made a video showing the product and the area I mentioned where a lock could go if there was a hole.

  • Using a Fuse Tap to Install a Firestone Air Compressor in a 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic 2500HD
  • Fuse tap # F2526 is rated for 10 to 30 amp fuses. For your particular application and fuse tap using the same size fuse that was originally in the fuse location will work just fine. The yellow wire in question is pulling minimal, if any, amperage. As long as you follow the mounting specifications of the filter and compressor you can mount them anywhere that is convenient/works best for you. Debris in the air lines tends to get trapped by the filter much better when it is positioned lower...

  • Can the Stromberg Carlson 100 Series 5th Wheel Tailgate # VGM-07-100 be Spray Painted
  • If you wanted to spray paint the Stromberg Carlson 100 Series 5th Wheel Tailgate # VGM-07-100 black you certainly could do so. A body shop is going to do a "better" job most likely but if the desired color you would have no problem doing it yourself.

  • Can I Weld a Bolt On Coupler and Still Use the Bolts?
  • Yes. You can weld the Demco Trailer Coupler # DM12141-81 on to your trailer in addition to the bolts or in place of them. It is recommended that any welding be done by a certified welder so as not to compromise the integrity of the coupler during the process. At the end of the day, you don't need to secure it via the bolts in addition to the weld-but it's not going to damage it by using both.

  • Estimated Installation Time for B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch on 2007 Chevy Silverado
  • I spoke with my contact at B&W regarding the Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Hitch # BWGNRK1067 for your 2007 Chevy Silverado. He said that a driveway DIYer like yourself can expect an installation time of about 2-3 hours. All of the needed hardware and frame brackets are included with this kit. Because the brackets are custom-fit for your truck, you won't need to drill into the frame to install them. I have attached an installation video on the 2008 Silverado that you can use for reference,...

  • Where Does Timbren Suspension Enhancement Install on a 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic
  • The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System, # TGMRCK25S, mounts to the bottom of the frame rail, not to the outside of the frame rail. Under load the bottom of the Timbren spring should only contact the axle. I have included a link to the installation details for you. I have also included a link to our FAQ article on Timbren systems. This system is designed to fit HD models only. If you do not have an HD model, you would use # TGMRCK15S.

  • How To Verify Tekonsha Voyager 39510 Is Working Properly.
  • To check if the Tekonsha Voyager Trailer Brake Controller # 39510 is working correct after being installed in your 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Classic you will want to have a friend hit the manual override lever while you use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to test the 5 o'clock pin on your 7-way connector. The only part this will not test is that the stop light switch wire is working correctly, as if you hit the brake pedal with the vehicle not moving the 7-way connector will not...

  • Parts Needed To Install Curt Assure Trailer Brake Controller In 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Classic
  • I have another option for you, but your 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Classic has a factory trailer brake controller port so there is no need to cut any wires. To replace your current controller with the Curt Assure Trailer Brake Controller with Dynamic Screen - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional # C49UR you will just need the # C51352 which will plug into the factory trailer brake controller port underneath the dash of your truck. I included video reviews for both of the products mentioned...

  • Testing to Find Which Trailer Wire Carries Trailer Brake Circuit
  • On the standard RV-type of 7-way socket and plug, parts like # 37185 and # H20046, the trailer brake signal is carried on the socket pin (as you look at the back end of the truck) that is at the 5-o-clock position. Please refer to the linked photo. On the trailer plug side the mating pin takes in the brake controller's signal for the trailer's brake. The color of wire usually used for a brake circuit is blue, but there is no guarantee that your trailer is wired with blue wire for the brake...

  • The Westin Truck Bed Mat # 50-6175 is heavy enough that it doesn't require any kind of anchors or adhesive when you put it in your 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic 6.5' bed. Just be sure to lay it out in a warm environment for a while prior to installing it so it has time to flatten out.

It will install like in the video I have linked. Make sure the red wire is placed in slot D as shown in the diagram. There also may be some connections that you will need to make under the hood. I have included a link to a help article that explains this for you. If your 2007 Silverado is the new body style then you will not use...

  • Installing a Brake Controller on a 2007 Chevy Silverado Without the Factory Tow Package
  • There are 2 different ways that a brake controller, like the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195, can be installed on a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado and it just depends on if you have a Classic or New Body. For the Classic you will need to connect an Adapter # 3015-P under the driver side dash as demonstrated in the attached video. For the New Body there is a wiring harness under the driver side dash that you will simply need to connect the included pigtail to. You may also need to make some connections...

  • Will Installing a Brake Controller Effect the Speedometer on a 2007 Silverado Classic 1500
  • Thank you very much for your service. To install a brake controller on your 2007 Chevrolet Silverado Classic 1500, all the garage would have had to do is plug the harness into the connector under your driver's side dash. If you had the Tekonsha Voyager # 39510 installed the connector would have been part # 3015-P. The garage would not have been messing with any fuses. If your Silverado didn't come with the connector then they would have had to do some simple splicing. From an online manual...

  • Wiring Installation For Brake Controller On 2007 Chevrolet Silverado
  • As simplistic as it sounds, the first thing you need to do is make certain which Silverado model you have. For 2007, Chevrolet made both the Classic model and also made the New Body model. On the New Body models, there is no panel connector for a brake controller harness, so hard wiring the brake controller is necessary. I have linked you to an FAQ article that explains the wiring for a brake controller on a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado New Body with factory integrated brake control. I have...
